Please Note: Girls + Data requires all volunteers (18+) to have a completed background check before working as a volunteer with minors.

Director of Human Resources
Operations
SKILLS NEEDED:
• At least five to seven years of progressive Human Resources experience, with a preference for at least two to three years as an HR Business Partner level or higher
• Single threaded owner for confidential and sensitive Human Resources matters
• 3+ years experience experience with handling background checks and onboarding / offboarding of personnel
• Strategic Business Partnership to support leaders at all levels of the organization on Recruitment, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, and Change Management
• Ability to take ambiguous business problems and decompose them into an actionable bodies of work to move the organization forward
Are you passionate about building and supporting teams? If so, we are looking for a long-term Human Resources professional volunteer to join the team as our Director of People Programs.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of HR experience, a passion for the girls + data mission, be self-motivated, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work closely with the Executive Director to manage onboard/off-boarding, process development, and recruitment programs.
Headquarters Event Manager
Curriculum & Event Operations
SKILLS NEEDED:
• Focused on creating scalable programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and self driven to be able to ask questions and seek answers from internal and external program teams
• Ability to prioritize tasks and projects, confident in decisions they make, and setting expectations
• Extremely dependable and partner focused, our events will depend on this person
We are looking for a Volunteer Headquarters Event Manager with excellent communication skills and follow through to work closely with the Technical Curriculum Developers, Head of Operations, Marketing Team, and local market partners to plan, market, and execute hands-on girls + data events for middle school aged girls.
The right Volunteer will be self-motivated, extremely organized, dependable, and be passionate about providing learning opportunities to young women. This role requires a regular commitment and focuses on providing a superior Student, Sponsor, and Volunteer experience.
Technical Curriculum Developer
Curriculum & Event Operations
SKILLS NEEDED:
• Gathers, preps, and analyzes data sets using a variety of analytics tools
• Willingness to document work for re-use by others
• Collaborates effectively with remote team mates
• Researches and learns new analytics tools
• Enjoys working with kids
This is an extremely high impact volunteer opportunity as our Technical Curriculum Developers are developing programs to be taught to students across the nation.
Our ideal Technical Curriculum Developer will be a self starter who will plan and develop technical learning programs and lesson plans to be taught at our hands-on data camps.
They should also have excellent communication and organizational skills, and follow through.
We would like each Technical Curriculum Developer to travel to at least one event (paid for by girls + data), but regular travel is not necessarily required.
Social Media Specialist
Marketing
SKILLS NEEDED:
• Has a knack for writing clear, witty, on-message copy
• Can correctly apply grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Can manage community and customer interactions and experiences with the brand
• Tells stories using a variety of media types such as photos, videos, text, combinations of, etc.
• Understands and/or learns about paid advertising and platform specific promotional techniques
Our Social Media Specialist will be pivotal in capturing the attention of the girls + data participants and business partners.
This individual will understand and project the voice of girls + data through humor and action. They will also work with the Marketing team to develop automated, consistent, engaging content while increasing engagement with our brand via excellent visual and written communication skills.
We would like each Social Media Specialist to travel to at least one event (paid for by girls + data), but regular travel is not necessarily required.
Graphic Designer
Creative
SKILLS NEEDED:
• Familiar with design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
• Possess a strong portfolio of professional Graphic Design work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Has a keen eye for aesthetics and detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and projects, confident in decisions they make, and setting expectations
• See around corners, go outside of their comfort zone, and strive to learn new things
We are looking for a part-time Graphic Designer to create engaging graphics for events, campaigns, and more!
This individual will be a strategic and creative thinker, focused on communicating girls + data's story and mission.
Additional responsibilities may include assisting with presentations, infographics, and product design, developing brand material, and providing creative input to Social Media and Operations teams.
The right Volunteer will be self-motivated, extremely organized, dependable, and be passionate about providing learning opportunities to young women.
Website Editor & Designer
Creative
SKILLS NEEDED:
• Possesses experience with website editors such as Wix, SquareSpace, etc.
• Understands website design best practices on different devices.
• Has excellent written and visual communication skills. • Can maintain a consistent brand while projecting the voice of our customers.
• Has knowledge of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Pixelmator, etc.
This is a virtual role that has a high impact as nearly all of our target audiences visit our website.
Our ideal Web Editor & Designer will be a self starter and will plan, execute, and test updates and complete overhauls to our Wix website.
They should also have excellent communication and organizational skills, and feel comfortable working quickly and independently.
Bonus points for experience with SEO or willingness to learn!
