SCOPE OF THIS POLICY

Girls Plus Data, Inc. believes in and is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our visitors.

 

This Privacy Policy informs you how we collect, protect, and use Personal Information you provide to us or we collect on our site or applications, as well as how we protect our participants’ privacy.

 

“Personal Information” is any information relating to an identified or identifiable person or person(s). Examples of this information may include (but is not limited to): e-mail addresses, names, phone numbers, or social media profile names.

 

If our Privacy Policy changes in the future, we will let our visitors know by posting our revised privacy policy on our site. By using our website or other applications covered by this Privacy Policy, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

On our site we do not collect Personal Information from individuals unless they provide it to us willingly and knowingly, and as described in this Privacy Policy.

 

This means we do not require you to register or provide Personal Information to view our site.

 

Girls Plus Data, Inc. only collects Personal Data on our site such as name, email address, phone number, etc. which is voluntarily submitted by our visitors for the purposes of receiving information about Girls Plus Data, Inc. news or applying for scholarships for students. This information is always voluntarily submitted by you, our visitor.

 

Once collected, we may combine this information with other information collected from external sources, where permitted by applicable law.

 

Girls Plus Data, Inc. may automatically collect certain Technical Data from devices you use to access our site or applications. Examples of this Technical Data may include details about your Internet service provider, your Internet Protocol address, your browser type, your operating system, the web pages viewed, the web pages viewed immediately before and after accessing the Web site, and the search terms entered to get to our site.

USE AND SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA

The Personal Information you provide and that we collect is used and processed by Girls Plus Data, Inc. and other third party entities involved by us in the operation of this site or who support for the Girls Plus Data, Inc. mission and programs, for our general business purposes and for the purposes for which you provided your Personal or Technical Information.

 

General business purposes are Girls Plus Data, Inc. program activities, scholarship applications, program participation, marketing, promotions, sales, merchandising, and fundraising activities and communications. The purposes for which you provide Personal or Technical information may include, for example, our use of your Personal Information to process scholarship applications, online transactions, purchases, and donations, facilitate participation in Girls Plus Data, Inc programs, promotions and services, or process volunteer applications.

 

We do not sell Personal Information or other information you provide to us online with third parties. We may share Personal Information with the following categories of third parties:

 

  1. School Partners; Sponsors; or volunteers directly related to Girls Plus Data, Inc. programming

  2. To others that the person submitting the information authorizes us to share it;

  3. When sharing the information is with a service provider in furtherance of our operations or the operation of the site or applications, for example, to process purchases or other transactions you make

  4. To facilitate participation in Girls Plus Data, Inc. programs, promotions, and services, fund raising, marketing communications and promotions;

  5. Any that are in compliance with legal processes such as a subpoena or court order or to otherwise protect your or our legal rights; or

  6. For other purposes for which you provided the information

 

Girls Plus Data, Inc. has no control over and therefore no responsibility for the data collection and use practices of third parties that process online transactions. We strive to use reputable third party platforms as partners, but we encourage you to review and familiarize yourself with their Privacy Notices as they are independent from ours. For example, if you make a purchase on our site, but use a PayPal account or similar account of a third party payment provider, certain information is transmitted to the payment provider and is subject to the third party's own Privacy Notices.

 

We do not share or exchange your Personal Information collected online or offline with third parties (other than those listed above) for their fundraising or marketing purposes, and only in accordance with applicable law and any required consents.

 

Your Personal Information is collected through, stored, and processed by us or our service partners in the United States of America or other countries that may not be your home country and that might not equivalent to those in your home country.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Girls Plus Data, Inc. is fully committed to providing a safe, secure, and fun experience for children who visit our site or participate in our events. We safeguard any Personal Information collected online in an effort to help parents and children have positive digital experiences and we only collect information that is necessary for Girls Plus Data, Inc. business operations. This information may include their name, school they attend, grade or age, and photos, videos or other digital media in which they may be present.

 

We never knowingly request Personal Information from participants under the age of 13 without prior parental consent. With parental consent we may collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13, for example, Photos, Name, Email Address, or student generated content. The information we collect allow us to fulfill specific business purposes such as facilitating participation in our programs, keeping records, marketing, and customizing or enhancing future programs for children.

 

In some cases, children under the age of 13 may make certain content such as user generated content visible to others or the public. This could include, for example, a website, dashboard, or other projects from our events that are designed for group or public viewing online. Without legal parents/guardians consent, children under the age of 13 will only be permitted to display information such as First Name; a unique identifier; or other information not allowing online contact by third parties.

 

Regardless of what information is displayed, legal parents/guardians have the right to revoke their consent and ask information to be deleted or obscured. (See Process for Removal)

 

To review Personal Information collected from children we must verify the identity of the legal parent/guardian requesting the Personal Information. When a legal parent/guardian revokes consent we stop collecting, using, processing, or disclosing information from their child, whichever is appropriate.

 

In an effort to respect the privacy of parents, Personal Information collected and used for the sole purpose of obtaining verifiable parental consent or providing notice is not maintained in retrievable form by the site if parental consent is not obtained after a reasonable time.

 

The Personal Information and other information collected from or about children under the age of 13 or otherwise may be collected by or shared with our Schools, Event Sponsors, or volunteers directly involved with Girls Plus Data, Inc. business.

 

PROCESS FOR REQUESTING REMOVAL

 

Legal Parent/Guardians that can verify their identity can request removal of Personal Information of their children, under the age of 13. This can be done in writing by emailing info@girlsanddata.org and including the following:
 

  1. Legal Parent/Guardian Name

  2. Phone Number to be reached at

  3. Email Address to be reached at

  4. Name of their child

  5. DOB of their child

  6. Location of the event their child attended

  7. Date and Time of the event their child attended

  8. What information they are requesting to have or to have removed

    1. For example, if they are requesting photos not identify their child, we need to know what photos their child appears in, where the photos are located, the date of the photos

 

USE OF COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

 

Our visitors should be aware that Personal Information and non-personal information and data may be automatically collected by the Girls Plus Data, Inc. website through the use of "cookies" or similar technologies, for example, web beacons.
